DEBORAH RICHMAN is an accomplished actress/singer, having starred in a multitude of musical theatre and drama productions in theatres spanning from the Los Angeles area to Branson, Missouri. She received her B.A. in Theatre Arts from San Francisco State University, where she studied both in the music and theatre departments. Having played flute since an early age, she is featured on four albums with the New Age group, Midnight Skye, which are highlighted in radio broadcasts and sold internationally.
One of Debbie’s most successful and fulfilling singing engagements was when she was hired by a talented young musical director to be the high soprano in a musical world premiere for the La Mirada Civic Light Opera...two years later they were married. In 2001, she produced and sang on the album “Day is Done: An Album of Lullabies” composed and arranged by her husband and performed by members of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. In addition to Debbie’s artistic endeavors she has been working in the fields of law, business and music administration for the last 17 years.
Debbie taught music and theatre in various elementary schools throughout the Los Angeles, served as the Executive Director for the Los Angeles Jewish Symphony from 1996 to 1998 and as a music librarian for the 20th Century Fox Music Library during that time as well. In Pittsburgh, she served as Production Manager for the Children’s Festival Chorus and Development Director for the Pittsburgh Jewish Film Festival. Ms. Richman has served as musical director for numerous theatrical productions, including Man of La Mancha and Guys and Dolls, spent 5 years directing children’s productions in Los Angeles and, most recently, she directed productions of Mozart’s The Impresario for the Edgewood Symphony Orchestra and the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra.
Now residing in Knoxville with her husband, Lucas, and 8-year-old son, Max, Debbie serves as Director of Publishing for LeDor Group, Inc., has been teaching a Musical Theatre Workshop for children for the last 3 semesters and is the Founder and Director of the Knoxville Jewish Alliance’s Center for the Arts.
